On Monday, October 3, 2016, in the context of the World School Sports Day, the Association "PERPATO", at the invitation of the 4th gymnasium of Komotini, organized "Paralympic day at school". This action took place in the indoor gymnasium and in the school library. Participants were the students of the third grade of the gymnasium.
The event consisted of 4 Paralympic sports demonstration stations, as well as a presentation and Information Station, where the president of the Sports Association of people with disabilities "Irodikos", Mr. Michalis Ragousis, informed the students about the Paralympic sports, using audiovisual material. He also answered students ' questions.
The Stations of Paralympic sports were:
wheelchair Basketball
Boccia
sitting volleyball
Athletics for the visually impaired
The 80 students of the third grade of the gymnasium participated in the action, while the students of the first and second grades attended the demonstration of the Paralympic sports. The students through play, fun and experiential exercise were informed, active and sensitized.
