Successfully was completed the program of autonomous Living Education organized by the Association" PERPATO", which took place from 23 to 27 September. The program involved four people with paraplegia, one person with Friedrich's ataxia and one person with Type II muscle atrophy, all of them wheelchair users.
The actions in which they participated were exercise in the water, exercise with a hand bicycle, shooting, wheelchair badminton, wheelchair table tennis,wheelchair basketball jeeping with 4x4 on the track 'Municipality of Rahmanidis' as well as in the Pomakochoria of the prefecture of Xanthi.
In addition, they were trained on the correct use of the wheelchair and on the transport from the wheelchair to the bed and vice versa and from the wheelchair to the car and vice versa. Also, on the day of their arrival, they attended speeches on spinal cord injury and bladder and bowel management by the president of the Association "PERPATO" and doctor Alexandros Taxildaris, as well as on pressure sores and autonomic dysreflexia by a nurse of the center.
The instructor of the program was the Paralympian and athlete of The Athletic Association "Irodikos" Makis Kalaras, who managed with his valuable advice to convey to the participants information that will help them become more autonomous in their daily lives
